Chestnut Hunting Lodge is located in the shadows of the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains near the Pisgah National Forest. We have the largest hunting preserve in North Carolina. Our hunt not only is the largest but the entire area is rugged mountains covered with heavy timber.
We are 11 miles west of Taylorsville, NC off Highway 64 on Dover Church Road. Just follow the Dover Church and Chestnut Hunt signs. We are 17 miles east of Lenoir, NC and about 50 miles from the Boone and Blowing Rock area; a short distance from Grandfather Mountain, 90 miles from Asheville and the famous Biltmore House, near the Cherokee Indian Reservation; approximately 65 miles from Charlotte and about 60 miles from Winston-Salem, NC. You may want to plan a hunt at Chestnut on your next vacation.

"Dodge Outfitter Of The Year - 2004"
Chestnut Hunting Lodge - Taylorsville, NC
Article from the North American Hunting Club Magazine
August 2005

When NAHC life member David Sapp of Kettering, Ohio decided he wanted to go on a wild boar hunt last fall, he could've chosen to save a little money by hunting with an outfitter close to home, but instead he chose to travel to North Carolina to hunt with Jerry Rushing of Chestnut Hunting Lodge.
"Although there are several outfitters closer to home, I chose to hunt with Chestnut Hunting Lodge because of its good reputation and willingness to help hunters harvest a boar," Sapp said. "Chestnut Hunting Lodge is definitely #1 in my book and will get many repeat visits from me!"
