Open year-round with hunting 6 days per week, the Chestnut Hunting Lodge is one of the cleanest and most comfortable you will find on any hunt. Our lodge consists of the following: full kitchen, two complete baths, comfortable beds accommodating up to 10 persons, clean linens furnished, heating, air conditioning, den with TV, lounge and trophy room. There is also a sundeck for enjoying the breath taking view of the mountains. Lodging for hunters is free.

Check-in is 5:00 PM (EST) on the day of arrival. ONE DAY HUNTS, but we book you for two days just in case a second day is needed. Two days and three nights lodging, fieldressing and skinning are free to our hunters. Non-hunters may stay at the lodge if space is available. No non-hunters October 1st through March.

There are no hidden charges at Chestnut. The price we quote is the price you pay.

If you would like to hunt on days that are less crowded, come in on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. But wherever you go, check for those hidden charges, then compare prices and quality of animals with Chestnut's.

No alcoholic beverages are allowed on the property either before or after the hunt. Anyone with alcohol will be removed from the property at once.

Food:
You may bring whatever you like to eat. There is a full kitchen for your use but, you must wash the dishes. There are a number of family and fast food in Taylorsville, approximately 20 minutes from the lodge.

Guides:
Our guides are professional and native to the area. At the crack of dawn your guide will drive you up the steep winding roads of the famous Whiskey Mountain where your hunt will begin. Your guide knows every inch of the rocky slopes and hollows and he will work strictly for you. His interest is to make your hunt a complete success. After the kill he will field dress game and pack it back to the lodge, skin and quarter it free of charge. At Chestnut you get a quality hunt, not just a kill.
